3D model of Pip Ivan — the peak with the “White Elephant” observatory
Pip Ivan Chornohirskyi (2,028 m) is one of the highest peaks of the Ukrainian Carpathians, at the south-eastern end of Chornohora. On the summit stand the stone walls of a 1930s astronomical observatory, known as the “White Elephant”.

The model covers about 4×4 km: the summit, the Chornohora ridge running north-west and the steep cirques on its slopes. The terrain is sharp, so the model looks properly alpine even without much vertical exaggeration.
