3D model of the Eiger — the famous North Face
The Eiger (3,967 m) stands in the Bernese Alps above Grindelwald, next to the Mönch and the Jungfrau. Its North Face, nearly 1,800 m high, is one of the most famous and dangerous walls of the Alps; it was first climbed in 1938.

For Switzerland we use 2 m lidar elevations, so a model of about 5×5 km clearly shows the face itself, the Mittellegi ridge and the west flank climbers descend by. Rocky sides make the wall even more dramatic.
